How to calculate consumption.

When purchasing a gas-powered device, people are often poorly informed of how much gas it requires. We regularly receive calls from our clients informing us that the level of consumption of their appliances is too high, which they frequently attribute to suspected leaks made during installation. After we explain how gas-powered devices consume the fuel, their concerns are usually resolved. Here is how to proceed. You need to consider that a litre of propane may generate an average of 25 000 BTU per hour.

If your device generates 30 000 BTU, it consumes approximately 1.2 litres per hour, when operating at maximum capacity.

N.B. the pilot flame of your device consumes approximately 1 litre per day regardless of the BTU level of your device.
